Role Overview: 
The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) office, under the supervision of the Global Head of DEI, is looking for a Senior Manager to join the team to design, develop, and execute comprehensive, high-impact interventions that support BioMarin’s DEI strategy with a strong focus on recruitment, metrics, and reporting. This role requires a strategic leader who can integrate DEI into core people practices, ensuring that our workplace becomes increasingly diverse, inclusive, and engaged. The DEI office is responsible for leading strategy, communication, partnerships, and outreach related to BioMarin’s DEI mission   
Key Responsibilities: 
Guides and directs appropriate stakeholders to increase the level of diversity awareness and establish initiatives to hire, advance, and retain underrepresented candidates by understanding and presenting diversity metrics, project managing initiatives to ensure execution in a timely manner. 
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams across BioMarin to design and implement effective DEI interventions (e.g., talent pipeline, candidate funnel, training) that help us attract diverse candidates and build high-performing, diverse teams. Track outcomes and success metrics along the way.  
    • Go deep into our diversity data and metrics, supporting our reporting requirements internally and externally with our Compliance, Legal, and People Team partners. Leveraging data to inspire action and drive outcomes across the organization. 
    • Partner with the People Analytics team to help design and execute effective updates for leadership that highlight progress and identify areas for improvement.
    • Collaborate with global and DEI leaders to implement enterprise-wide programs and initiatives that consider regional laws, culture, and needs. 
    • Support Employee & Community Resource Groups to help shape the strategy for these groups, including managing projects that drive retention, advancement, and engagement at BioMarin.  
    • Facilitate and support execution of internal DEI training, workshops and educational opportunities.  
    • The DEI Office is new and evolving. As such, the responsibilities of this role may change over time as the Office is established and continues to evolve. 
            Qualifications: 
              • You have subject matter expertise in diversity, equity, and inclusion
              • You have been responsible for developing/implementing significant components of an organization’s DEI strategy  
              • You can influence change across functions and levels successfully  
              • You consistently leverage qualitative and quantitative data to build strategy and inform programmatic design  
              • You can transform ambiguous problems into strategies and solutions  
              • You are energized to advise and consult, but you also appreciate rolling up your sleeves and doing the work
            • Education & Experience:
              • Bachelor's degree in a related area, such as Human Resources, Psychology or equivalent experience
              • Has 4-7 years of relevant experience with depth of skills and role related competence, which is more important to us than years of experience6-8 years overall professional experience preferred.  
              • Advanced MS Excel and MS PowerPoint skills desirable
